NAUI – Master Diver/Rescue Diver

Master Diver/Rescue Diver

The Master SCUBA Diver certification gives you the chance to hone your diving skills to the level of a NAUI professional leader. Through the Master SCUBA Diver certification, you will gain in-depth knowledge that will establish you as a recognized authority in your diving club or group. This is an opportunity to dive in settings that will test your abilities to their limit while enhancing and expanding your dive capabilities.

The course: The Master SCUBA Diver course takes your knowledge and skill to the next level. The course is comprised of approximately 23 hours of academic instruction, 6 hours of confined water instruction, and at least 8 open water dives. Required diving activities will include: emergency procedures and rescue, simulated decompression diving, limited visibility or night diving, underwater navigational diving, search and recovery-light salvage skills, equipment skills as well as elective dives.

Requirements: You must be at least 15 years of age and have NAUI Advanced Diver certification or the equivalent. Successful demonstration of adequate student knowledge and capability may be required by the instructor before any open water training.

Rescue Diver certification is optional and is offered at a reduced price. Once you are 15 years of age and a certified scuba diver, you can expand your diving knowledge with a NAUI Rescue Scuba Diver or NAUI Advanced Rescue Scuba Diver course. Learn how to manage risks and effectively handle limited in-water problems and diving emergencies, how to assist and transport divers, and how to perform surface rescues and rescues from depth involving both boat and shore based skin and scuba divers.

CPR and First Aid certifications are required to complete this course. Your Rescue Scuba Diver training moves you on your pathway to becoming a NAUI Leader as a Skin Diving Instructor, Assistant Instructor, Divemaster, or Instructor.

Master Diver and Rescue Diver are per-requisites for leadership training programs.
